The best mentor? YOU—20 years ahead. Lunch with Dad & Charlie Munger would be priceless!
Transcript:
If you could have lunch with one person, current or historical, who would it be, and why two people? And I would love to do that lunch together, my dad and Charlie Munger. Thing that my dad taught me was the best mentor you can have is yourself 20 years from now. Otherwise, you have to continuously provide context to your mentors to be like I think about this. I'm having this. I'm doing that. I call this mentor Uncle Ron, which is Sharran, 20 years from now, always ahead. And so I have this document where I just talk to Uncle Ron, which is like, Hey, I don't have to give Uncle Ron context about anything, but the closest to Uncle Ron for me is my dad. So I trust my dad. He's always, you know, want the right thing for me, but it's very hard when you're talking to somebody, but you don't have somebody in your corner in that conversation. So I think if I get Charlie and my dad, man, I would want to freeze time in that conversation.
