Sharran, good afternoon. Hey. My name is Sharran Srivasa. I serve as the CEO of Kingston lane. And today I want to share with you something very important, very specific. And so if you can see me, hear me, give me a heart or a like, just so I know that you can see me or hear me, and that my audio and video are right. So I'm going to give it just one second. I'm going to make sure my audio and video are right. So if you can see me, or you can hear me, give me a harder like, alright. So here we go. I'm going to give it 10 seconds. Here I see a bunch of hearts, bunch of likes, thank you. Thank you. So this is great. So today I was a very special day, because once a month, I get to meet with my board of advisors, and they advise me on the critical aspects of our business. They're a group of CEOs, entrepreneurs here in California that have that oversee billions of dollars in sales and revenue, 1000s of employees, have numerous business exits, just a really well diversified Board of Advisors, a board of advisors like what you should have. And I just want to take just a minute to give you the one lesson they told me, they shared with me, they all agreed upon is important for any high achiever to have to wish for to build, to grow it, and their entire theme of everything that they shared with me today was based entirely on this one piece of advice for me. So this may not be the right for you, but this was the right thing for me and for my current situation. So here's what they shared. So I walked my board of advisors through my our business where we were, especially in Kingston lane, where we have common 1000s of users in just under 100 days, launching in multiple countries. Then I talked about the impact of being on the road, being away from my family, being away from my friends, running the big remote culture, which is something that we wanted to do, bringing on great new people, onboarding employees working across time zones, across hours, etcetera. And he was the one piece of advice that they gave me, and they said the one thing, the one thing they said that would completely shift and transform my ability as a servant leader, my ability as the entrepreneur, my ability as the Rainmaker, my ability as the protector provider, my ability as the evangelist, is just one thing. And they said they use the words self care, self care, and I didn't. I didn't quite understand exactly what they meant, but I've been thinking about this word, these hyphenated word of just self care. What is self care? What is self care? To you, when we get stressed, the what we want to do is we want to work our way more out of the stress. So the high achiever in you wants to do more and work its way out of the stress by working more. And there's a really great line we get in the positions of influence, the positions of transformation. We get paid to rest and recover. We get paid to rest and recover. That also forces us to do what we can do in an allotted amount of time, in an allotted amount of time. So if we all know that time and effort and accomplishment expand to the number of hours that we're given in a day. So if I told you you have eight deliverables today, and I give you eight hours, we will naturally take the eight deliverables to fit in those eight hours. But if I told you you're leaving on a trip in the next three hours and you had three hours to do those same eight deliverables, you would find a way to do those same eight deliverables in three hours and the rest of the time, what happens we have a chance to rest, rejuvenate and recover and self care is one thing that entrepreneurs, executives, high achievers, aspiring high achievers, people with side hustles, people that work seven days a week need, and you Don't need tons of time off, which is a good thing, because for your health and vitality, but you need self care. Self care. So what is self care? So I'm going to offer you this concept of self care. First, for some people, it is getting a massage. For some people, it is playing with their children. For some people, is going for a run. For some people, it's meditating. For some people, is just seeing some blocks in your calendar that are not blocks of appointment. For some people, it's not going back to back to back. For some people, it is, you know, is laying by the pool. For some people, it is just walking, taking a walk. For some people, it's having a run. For some people, it's going to yoga. For some people, it's working out self care is something that you can do to take care of yourself. Now, the more stressed you are, the more appointments you have on your calendar, the more things to do you have in your to do list, the more self care you need, the more self care you need. So the one piece of advice my billion dollar board of advisors gave me is, hey, Sharran, this is a time where you start really. Thinking about self care, because how much you take care of yourself as a person, as with your family, with your with your team and your professional life, how much you could take care of yourself is the more you can give back. It is no different than the oxygen mask analogy. We think it's tried and true, and we get that, but the more stressed you are, the more self care that you need. So I want to ask you this, if there's one thing that you can do instantly, maybe listen to some songs, listen to your favorite piece of music, meditate, whatever. Just post below. What is one thing that you can do to create some self care in your life today, if an entire board of advisors, of a of a of successful people can give me that same aligned advice, I'm sure that they would give the same to you, right? I'm sure that they would give the same to you. So what would be yours commitment to self care? I know this is a little soft, but, but it's really important. It's informal, but important because the more we take care of ourselves, the more we can do for others, your business, your family and your community. Remember, self care can do wonders for you. Post below and tell me what form of self care is the right fit for you. Maybe try to do some commitments around that today so you can have a better set of tomorrows again.
