Door knocking done right! 🏡
This past weekend, I had an interesting encounter with two real estate agents who could use a little door-knocking etiquette.
Instead of just asking if anyone wanted to sell their home, why not offer something of value?
Try this: knock, apologize for the interruption, and invite them to a neighbors-only open house, a toy drive, or even a recycling drive!
When you knock on someone's door, make sure you're bringing more than just a question.
Transcript:
Let me tell you the worst way to door knock. So this past weekend, someone knocked on our door, and I went to open the door, there were two real estate agents that said, Hi, we're just door knocking the neighborhood looking if anybody wanted to sell their home, like, please don't do that. If we are actually interrupting somebody, we gotta do more than just tell them why you're there. The best way to actually do that instead would be to door knock and then say, Hey, I'm so sorry to bother you. And the reason is you're breaking down the feeling that you are bothering them, and then actually invite them to something. You can say, we're doing a neighbor's only open house. We just listed a home around the corner. We are doing a toy drive. We're doing a recycling drive. When you don't knock and you interrupt somebody, the least you can do is invite them to something.
